Long before entering the association management field, Vanessa Robertson’s connection to the Colorado River was a central part of her life. Growing up in Palm Springs, California, her family regularly traveled out to the river for vacations, filling her childhood with memories of exploring Oatman and visiting Lake Havasu. Vanessa even celebrated her first marriage right here in Bullhead City, establishing a deep affection for the community that would eventually draw her back permanently.
Life as a military wife soon took her across the country, spending nearly a decade living in North Carolina and Sierra Vista, Arizona, where she focused on her education. When she later returned to California, she found a new professional calling in the HOA and community association management industry — starting at the absolute entry level by answering phone calls, sorting daily mail, and filing work requests.

By working through every internal tier of a busy management firm, Vanessa mastered the mechanics of HOA operations from the ground up. She eventually earned her professional management credentials and specialized heavily in association operations and financial tracking. This comprehensive grounding opened the door for her to become the Operations Manager at Sun City Palm Desert — a massive master-planned development featuring 5,000 homes, nearly 9,000 residents, two golf courses, three clubhouses, and over thirty active resident committees. Managing an infrastructure of that size provided her with rare, high-level structural insight into balancing complex budgets and organizing administrative records.
Six years ago, family and her desire to be closer to the Colorado River brought Vanessa home to Bullhead City, joining a local management office where her mother also worked. Serving as the operational lead, she helped oversee and guide the company’s administrative systems as its portfolio scaled from 20+ communities to 80+ across Arizona and California. Over those years, she worked directly with local board members, listened to their daily operational hurdles, and learned which local trade professionals to call when a community needs reliable work.
Canyon View Community Management was founded out of a clear understanding of those local board frustrations.
