Proposal & Transition Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take for CVCM to put together a management proposal?
Once we receive the core community details, we review the association’s size, type, location, management needs, and likely support level. Many preliminary proposal outlines can be prepared within a few business days, but timing may vary if your board needs a specialized service structure, developer-phase support, or additional clarification before pricing is finalized.
Is there any cost or obligation attached to receiving a management proposal?
No. A proposal request is simply a way for your board to better understand CVCM’s service options, management approach, and pricing structure. There is no obligation to move forward unless your board chooses to take the next step.
Our current management contract has a notice period. How is that timing handled?
This is common. If your board decides to consider a transition, CVCM can help organize the management-change timeline based on the information your board provides. Your board should review any existing contract, notice requirement, and legal obligation carefully and consult association counsel when needed.
What documents will our board eventually need to provide?
To prepare a more accurate service plan, CVCM may eventually request items such as the current operating budget, governing documents, recent financial reports, unit count, vendor list, meeting schedule, reserve information, insurance information, and general records status. Sensitive documents should be shared only through an appropriate secure process.
Can CVCM help self-managed communities?
Yes. Self-managed associations often need help with records, board packets, owner communication, vendor coordination, budgeting support, compliance administration, meeting preparation, and transition cleanup. CVCM can help boards evaluate whether full management, hybrid support, or targeted administrative assistance is the right fit.
